Position Summary

Keller® Consulting as a Fastest-Growing Consulting Firm.  We are currently seeking an experienced Consulting Practice Manager to join our highly-regarded, successful Transportation Consulting Practice. Working with companies from coast-to-coast, our Transportation Consultants offer significant value to clients by way of ongoing programs that range from compliance assessments and policy development to program development and implementation, and everything in-between. The purpose of this position is to lead the activities of an assigned consulting practice to consistently achieve business results and to ensure that customer service expectations are fulfilled. This position will also spend about 50% of the time performing billable consulting work for clients, either in-house, off-site, or through internet technology. This includes: conducting audits & assessments, developing and implementing customized solutions, and providing training, advisory, and technical support to clients.


J. J. Keller® Consulting Services:

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages logistics of fulfilling client agreements in a timely manner consistent with client expectations, utilizing internal and external resources.
  • Performs billable consulting work for customers, to include safety audits, assessments, and training.
  • Manages subscription-based Safety & Compliance Program for assigned clients.
  • Works with sales professionals to develop proposals and assist with client presentations.
  • Demonstrates leadership as an industry expert and guides staff on client engagements.
  • Leads, develops and coaches associates:
    • Provides clear expectations, feedback and recognition
    • Participates in the hiring/selection process
    • Writes and conduct performance evaluations and progress reports
    • Handles associate relations issues
  • Delivers results in line with the following key metrics/accountabilities:
    • Service line revenue and gross margin objectives
    • Client satisfaction and retention standards
    • Associate retention
    • Budget control
  • Assists with the development and implementation of J. J. Keller proprietary solution offerings.
  • Manages expenses in line with departmental budgets and corporate business conditions.
  • Carries out responsibilities in a fair, ethical and non-discriminatory manner and ensure that staff follows these same guidelines.
  • Enforces and support all company policies and procedures. Fully support the company's commitment to safety and the environment and strive to maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace.


  • 7+ years of regulatory compliance consulting experience within the transportation industry
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role managing direct reports
  • P&L or budget management experience desired



  • Bachelor's degree in business or transportation field
  • Certification in assigned regulatory field preferred, but not required


Other Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of FMCSA regulations and the transportation industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with client representatives at executive level
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation
  • Knowledge of selling consulting services and the unique aspects of positioning high cost, intangible solutions
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment.


Travel expectation: 80% via airplane and car to customer sites and/or industry and training events.
