Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to develop curriculum and courses used to train sales associates on how to be effective in their roles in order to reach department objectives. Training topics will include, but not be limited to: products/services, markets, regulations, systems and sales skills.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Identifies training needs and develops training curriculum for sales associates (new and current) within multiple sales channels and with varying degrees of sales complexities.
  • Gathers and analyzes data to assess ROI for training programs.
  • Identifies and recommends new/revised sales processes and methods.
  • Develops and implements training evaluation and assessment processes. 
  • Works with subject matter experts to develop and maintain content that supports learning needs.
  • Prepares trainers for delivery of courses.
  • Develops and implements self-directed learning activities based on identified training needs and/or learning objectives.
  • Maintains and publishes on-line training courses in line with company standards.
  • Delivers training for sales associates (new and current) on an occasional basis to supplement sales training staff.
  • Assists other departments with special training projects (be available as a corporate resource).

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or Business.
  • Coursework in instructional design/adult learning preferred.
  • In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, 4+ years of combined education and related experience (in addition to experience listed below) may be considered.

Experience:

  • 5 plus years of experience in training.
  • Demonstrated curriculum development experience.
  • Sales experience preferred.

Other Skills/Qualifications:

  • Curriculum development skills.
  • Strong understanding of business measurements and results.
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodology.
  • Ability to develop and utilize new approaches and techniques for training.
  • Ability to evaluate associates' understanding and translate into training needs.
  • Professional communication skills - written, verbal and presentation.
  • Ability to effectively utilize technology/tools to deliver training in multiple formats.
  • Ability to identify learning gaps and individual learning styles and adjust delivery accordingly.
  • Ability to assess whether or not the learning transferred and what needs to happen next.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to offsite offices, customer sites and/or industry and training events may also be required, depending on assignment.
