Position Summary
It’s an exciting time for J. J. Keller’s Safe & Smart Driver Training team as we continue to grow and expand our program offerings within the U.S. and Canada. In an effort to support customer demand, we are looking to add contract Driver Trainers to our team. In this position, you will provide driver training services on an as-needed basis to driver-trainees who are employed by our clients and their partners. Training will include classroom instruction, range training, road training and a road test, to drivers who are operating commercial motor vehicles.

Job Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom training on DOT regulations, safe vehicle operation, and other topics related to the safe and effective operation of a Commercial Motor Vehicle. Administer tests to determine pass/fail.
- Administer road tests to evaluate the driver’s ability to effectively and safely manage the vehicle in environments they will encounter on the job. Determine final pass/fail on driving skills.
- Provide feedback on training effectiveness and opportunities for improvement to training development staff.
- Carry out responsibilities in a fair, ethical and non-discriminatory manner and ensure that staff follows these same guidelines.
- Enforce and support all company policies and procedures. Fully supports the company's commitment to safety and the environment and strives to maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 1+ year of commercial driver training experience desired.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
Other Skills/Qualifications:
- Possess valid license for the type(s) of vehicles used in the training.
- Requires travel, to include reliable transportation, and a flexible schedule.
- Must possess credit card and be willing to use it for reimbursable business travel when necessary.
- Bilingual in English/French and dual US/Canadian citizenship preferred but not required.
- Solid verbal, written and presentation skills.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed in multiple environments, including office, classroom, and vehicle. Work involves the operation of a commercial motor vehicle on a range and public roads.
This position will require travel (company-paid) to various locations throughout Canada.
