This position is part of our commercial development team that builds solutions for the Environmental, Health and Safety and Human Resource Markets. The Architect will create technical architecture and development solutions for large, complex projects for assigned products or services.


We're a distributed team with the majority of our members working remote around the US. Our 100+ member development team also has dedicated QA, Technical Support, Product Management and DevOps teams; providing a structure for success and support, and allowing our Architects to spend their time setting technical direction, mentoring others and solving problems. 


This role can be 100% Remote within the US. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Acts as architect on new development projects, including those crossing across several product lines. 
  • Analyzes functional and business requirements and determines technical solutions. 
  • Produces technical design documentation and development plans and provides accurate estimates based on business needs. 
  • Makes recommendations regarding site architecture and development techniques/standards and leads implementation of both. 
  • Provides technical leadership, mentorship and training to other developers on projects. 
  • Performs complex programming tasks related to new development. 
  • Provides consultation to Product Managers and design resources in determining technical solutions and/or direction during the design phase of projects. 
  • Coordinates with Website and Database Administrators on planning and implementation of architecture or server related projects. 
  • Communicates with third party vendors, end users, customers and internal product stakeholders on systems requirements, enhancements and recommendations to support business direction. 
  • Develops and maintains a solid understanding of the technology tools and trends and remains current in new technology developments and their potential impact on the department. 




  • 10+ years of progressive experience in analysis, technical design, coding and testing of software and web based applications.
  • 6+ years experience working with Microsoft development tools (C#, SQL Server, .NET).
  • Previous experience working as a Developer. 
  • Advanced knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Previous experience training and mentoring technical resources.
  • Experience working with Angular is preferred and Xamarin is a plus. 
  • Developing and managing solutions in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure frameworks. 
  • Experience with Azure DevOps a strong plus. 
  • Associate's Degree in a Computer Science or technology-related field required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to architect complex systems utilizing new or existing methodologies to ensure productivity and success.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and assess technology tools to provide recommendations for supporting business direction.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate technical and non-technical issues with customers, vendors and product stakeholders at various levels. 
  • Must be a quick learner and highly adaptable. 



  • Associate's degree in a Computer Science or technology-related field required. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a technology-related field strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to offsite offices or customer sites may also be required, depending on assignment.

J. J. Keller provides a competitive benefit package which includes the following (eligibility requirements apply):  Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plan, etc. The compensation range for this role in Colorado is $110,000.00 to $130,000.00. Compensation and benefits information for this position is being included in accordance with requirements of the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. J. J.
