Position Summary

Join the Finance team at J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. as a Collection Specialist. In this position, you will manage customer accounts, communicate with clients regarding outstanding balances, and perform a variety of account administration activities.

 

Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive customer relationships while resolving payment-related issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Makes collection contacts via phone and/or e-mail on past-due accounts as assigned. Encourages timely payment in support of company goals for accounts receivable aging and bad debt write-off. 
  • Answers incoming telephone calls as part of department call hunt group and provides customer service. 
  • Responds to emails/correspondence from customers and sales areas regarding accounts. 

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience:

  • 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • Collection experience preferred.

Computer Skills

  • Must be proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite, with high proficiency in MS Excel. 
  • Experience with SAP desirable.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify and assist in resolving problems.
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment.  Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time.
