Position Summary

This senior level role in the Human Resources Department is responsible for managing the organization's compensation function and administering compensation related programs and policies in line with corporate pay philosophies and federal and state regulations.  This position is also responsible for managing the software applications used by the HR department. The ideal candidate would reside in the local market and have the flexibility to work from home, onsite, or remote.  
 

Job Responsibilities

Compensation Management:

  • Plans for, coordinates, and executes the annual salary structure update process, including reviewing market data, assessing geographical differentials and assessing position pay grades.  
  • Collaborates with department leaders to review and finalize position descriptions, to include defining job responsibilities, progression paths, FLSA status, and pay grade/level.  
  • Develops and administers variable compensation programs such as Gain Sharing, Discretionary Bonus, recognition programs, and other programs.
  • Manages the design and analysis of incentive plans in collaboration with area leadership. Oversees the administration of incentive software application used for calculations, approval, and payment processing.
  • Assists with updating and creating policies in the Associate Handbook related to areas involving compensation.
  • Ensures that all compensation-related activities are in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Conducts market analysis of company jobs to determine competitive positioning of the organization's pay programs.

Position Management:

  • Manages organizational structure and positions for the company, to include job titles/hierarchy, reporting relationships, and active vs open positions.

HRIS Management:

  • Manages the development, installation, testing, and modification of HR systems, including payroll, time management, benefits, talent management, onboarding, compensation, rewards, etc.
  • Develops and maintains standard reports and dashboards and creates custom queries on an ad hoc basis.
  • Completes regulatory reporting in accordance with EEO, OFCCP, DWD, and other agencies. 
     

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business related field preferred.
  • In lieu of degree, additional experience in HR compensation and system administration may be considered.
  • 5+ years experience of HR compensation program administration, including sales incentive design and administration.
  • Experience with administering HRIS (experience with ADP a plus).
  • Experience in developing or maintaining effective compensation programs aligned with the needs of the business, culture, and overall strategic direction.

Other Skills/Qualifications:

  • Advanced level proficiency with MS Excel, including Pivot Tables.
  • Understanding of state and federal compensation-related employment and labor law.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to optimize and streamline processes and data. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical aptitudes.
  • Ability to facilitate project teams and work with all levels within the company.
  • Must maintain utmost level of confidentiality due to the sensitivity of the work in this department.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time.
