Position Summary
This remote position is responsible for leading an E-Commerce Software Development team to consistently achieve business results and to ensure internal/external customer/client service expectations are fulfilled. This position is also responsible for overseeing release management, development projects, and resource allocation/planning. This is a NEW role that was created based on the complexity of supporting our systems to meet to the growing business needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Provides technical leadership to internal and external resources responsible for performance, development, and support for JJKeller.com and other Ecommerce-managed web properties.
- Leads, develops, and coaches team:
- Provides clear expectations, feedback, and recognition
- Participates in the hiring/selection process
- Writes and conducts performance evaluations and progress reports
- Handles associate relations issues
- Delivers results in line with the following key metrics/accountabilities:
- Development and support project timelines and budgets
- Application quality, system uptime and system performance targets
- Associate retention
- Budget control
- Manages the Software Development Life Cycle process and methodology to ensure a high level of quality for all products and services.
- Oversees construction of product/service enhancements and changes. Ensures adherence to best practices for development, security, and release management.
- Coordinates with internal and external infrastructure teams and ensures 99.99% site availability.
- Interacts with Product Managers and other stakeholders to plan/prioritize development projects and to effectively allocate resources. Ensures strong communication and training for technical support relative to product/service changes.
- Ensures strong communication of project status, activities and milestones to area leadership and project stakeholders.
- Identifies and facilitates implementation of technologies and technical requirements for assigned products/services.
- Acts as a mentor and performs code reviews with the team to ensure quality and standards, particularly for contract resources.
- Carries out responsibilities in a fair, ethical, and non-discriminatory manner and ensures that staff follows these same guidelines.
- Manages expenses in line with departmental budgets and corporate business conditions.
- Enforces and supports all company policies and procedures. Fully supports the company's commitment to safety and the environment and strives to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe workplace.
Qualifications
Experience:
- 6+ years in commercial software/service/website development.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring developers.
- Demonstrated experience effectively leading project teams and software development projects to successful completion.
- Formal project methodology experience; agile experience preferred.
- Experience with project management tracking software.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in technology related field.
- In lieu of degree, may consider a combination of education and experience.
Other Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong technical background, specifically full stack web development and management.
- Knowledge of and/or the ability to manage projects involving additional technologies including: HCL Commerce, Adobe Experience Manager, Acoustic marketing products, cloud-based solutions.
- Solid understanding of web-oriented architecture that includes database clusters and server farms, as well as development, production, and disaster recovery environments.
- Strong, demonstrated knowledge of project management and software development best practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of data security best practices.
- Demonstrated analytical ability.
- Ability to develop and implement associate growth plans and programs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to customer sites may also be required, depending on assignment.
