Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to install, maintain and support all hardware and software on computer and computer related equipment. This position also has responsibility for relocating computer and computer related equipment and provides help desk support as needed. Additionally, this role administers a number of IT systems (i.e. Antivirus, Systems Management) and also serves as a mentor to others on the IT Service Desk team. 

 

Travel for this position will be between various J. J. Keller locations located in the Neenah/Appleton area. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains and moves computer related equipment. 
  • Installs and updates software as required for fixes/upgrades. 
  • Handles computer equipment troubleshooting and problem resolution. 
  • Provides Tier 2 support to the IT Service Desk. 
  • Maintains an inventory of all computer related equipment and software. 
  • Handles Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA's) and sends in equipment requiring repairs. 
  • Organizes computer equipment in storage and keeps area clean and organized. 
  • Performs administration systems. (For example: SCCM, McAfee EPO, Group Policy, Print Server, etc.).
  • Activates ports in wiring closets for new installs or PC moves; informs Infrastructure team of any changes/issues as necessary. 
  • Covers the Service Desk and provides front-line support for computer issues reported via phone, e-mail, walk-in, IM, etc. as required to meet business needs and customer expectations.  
  • Provides mentorship, assistance and training to other team members as needed. 
  • Creates documentation for instruction and departmental procedures. 
  • Performs project work as assigned to investigate new/changing technologies or issues. 

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 4+ years experience in a Microsoft Windows user support role providing hardware and software support.  
  • Prior experience administering IT systems for Antivirus and Systems Management (SCCM, McAfee, SentinelOne preferred).

Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science or a technology-related field.
  • In lieu of Degree, may consider 2 additional years of directly related experience.

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite, including intermediate to advanced functions.
  • Technical knowledge of PC operating systems, web-based programs and Internet browsers.
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases.
  • Technical knowledge of software installations.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to perform project work, including leading projects either independently or in a team setting.
  • Ability to mentor and train others. 

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to offsite offices or customer sites may also be required, depending on assignment. 

 

Requires moderate to frequent lifting and moving of IT equipment up to 40 lbs.
