Position Summary

This position is hybrid and requires 2-3 days of on-site work in Neenah, WI

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. CDT

J. J. Keller is seeking to fill an opening on our Accounting & Finance team.  Due to an upcoming retirement, we are looking for a Lead Collection Specialist to assist our team in consistently achieving business results and to ensure internal/external customer/client service expectations are fulfilled. The Credit & Collection team is responsible for the collection of delinquent accounts and for approving credit lines for customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Makes collection contacts via phone and/or e-mail on past-due accounts as assigned. Encourages timely payment in support of company goals for accounts receivable aging and bad debt write-off. 
  • Answers incoming telephone calls as part of department call hunt group and provides customer service. 
  • Responds to emails/correspondence from customers and sales areas regarding accounts. 
  • Handles complex or high-profile collection accounts. 
  • Uses in-depth knowledge of systems and department processes to actively support change and company goals for accounts receivable aging and bad debt.
  • Monitors payment activity on various payment sites, such as invoices, payment dates, and/or approval status.
  • Provides training/coaching to new and existing collection specialists.
  • Assists leader with the following:  coordination of workloads, reports weekly (inbound) payments from agency, manages placement with collection agency and makes final determination on select delinquent accounts.
  • Back up inbound telephone calls as part of department hunt group and provides customer service, when needed.

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience:

 Lead Specialist

  • 3+ years of experience in business-to-business credit/collections.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve in complex situations.
  • Utilizes advanced collection strategies, to include experience with customer contracts and third-party payment sites. 
  • Consistently demonstrates leadership skills and success model behaviors.

Computer Skills

  • Must be proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite, with high proficiency in MS Excel. 
  • Experience with SAP desirable.

  • Effective analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to identify and assist in resolving problems.
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment.  Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to offsite offices, customer sites and/or industry and training events may also be required, depending on assignment.

J. J. Keller provides a competitive benefit package which includes the following (eligibility requirements apply):  Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plan, etc. The compensation range for this role is $23.00 to $23.00 which varies depending on factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s overall experience and geographic location. Note that J. J. Keller is not currently recruiting employees to work in California.
