Position Summary

This position is responsible for driving revenue for multiple J. J. Keller subscription lines, as well as leading direct mail and email marketing plans and strategies. The Marketing Manager is also responsible for leading a team of three associates. This role works collaboratively with our large in-house Marketing team, including Analytics & Forecasting, E-Commerce, Portfolio Management and Creative. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Delivers results in line with the following key metrics/accountabilities for the assigned line:
    • Gross Margin
    • Net revenue 
    • Net operating margin
    • New product pursuit and revenue targets
    • Lead generation targets 
  • Leads, develops and coaches team:
    • Provides clear expectations, feedback and recognition
    • Participates in the hiring/selection process
    • Writes and conducts performance evaluations and progress reports
    • Handles associate relations issues
  • Develops and executes strategies to achieve metrics. Integrates plans with other Marketing teams, Sales, R&D, and other business units as appropriate.
  • Directs the marketing mix including customer segmentation, channel mix, positioning, and product promotion and offer development within growth and profitability expectations. 
  • Monitors performance of existing line and identifies and recommends changes as necessary to achieve results. 
  • Makes new product development/existing product enhancement recommendations to the R&D department and works closely with them to ensure customer-centric execution. 
  • Regularly analyzes key product performance factors and trends and recommends strategy changes as required to drive growth. 
  • Employs strong cross-functional collaboration, particularly with sales, R&D and manufacturing/sourcing. 
  • Carries out responsibilities in a fair, ethical and non-discriminatory manner.
  • Manages expenses in line with departmental budgets and corporate business conditions.
  • Enforces and supports all company policies and procedures. Fully supports the company's commitment to safety and the environment and strive to maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace. 

Qualifications

Experience:

  • 7+ years of marketing and/or sales experience, including at least 5 years of product marketing experience.
  • Direct response marketing experience with the ability to review performance and make recommendations for future strategy. Leadership of direct mail and email channel experience strongly preferred. 
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Business-to-Business marketing experience preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business related program. In lieu may consider additional years of direct response marketing experience

  • Ability to develop and implement growth plans and programs.
  • Ability to work with a variety of departments and cross-functional teams.
  • Significant knowledge and experience in product marketing, strategies and techniques.
  • Knowledge of direct response marketing techniques and strategies.
  • Prior demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to offsite offices, customer sites and/or industry and training events may also be required, depending on assignment.
