Position Summary

The purpose of this 2nd shift Sr. Mechanic position is to keep manufacturing equipment in operational condition to meet or exceed production schedule goals. This is a critical role for the Manufacturing and Supply Chain environment to ensure all the printing, binding and conveyor  equipment/machinery is running smoothly.  The hours of this position are 3:30 pm to 11:30 pm Monday-Friday and you will earn an additional .60 per hour for working 2nd shift and an end of year shift differential bonus.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs preventive and unscheduled machine maintenance as assigned. 
  • Performs electrical work on manufacturing machinery as needed. 
  • Performs carpentry work as assigned. 
  • Performs machinery cleaning and tune-ups. 
  • Keeps proper documentation of time sheets and maintenance records in accordance with prescribed procedures. 
  • Takes responsibility for the quality and safety of the work performed on equipment. 
Qualifications

Education:

  • High School degree or GED equivalent required
  • Post-secondary courses in mechanics preferred

Experience:

  • 2+ years of maintence mechanical or millwright experience

Certifications & Licenses:

  • Willingness to enroll in Millwright Apprenticeship Program, if applicable.

Other Skills/Qualifications:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong electrical aptitude.
  • Strong welding, machining and fabricating skills.
Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing (industrial production) environment and may involve exposure to high noise levels, fast moving printing presses and other industrial machinery.

 

Work involves occassional lifting/pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs. and frequent bending, squating, crawling and climbing.

 

Work requires wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, eye protection, welding gloves and shield, grinding suit and arc-flash protection suit.
