As a Permit Processor, you will be a key partner in ensuring our clients remain in compliance with state and Federal regulations. You will be responsible for securing temporary permits for our transportation clients and ensuring our clients receive their necessary permits in a timely and accurate manner. The Permit Processor will work remotely with 2nd shift hours of Tuesday - Saturday 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. after completing 4-6 months of training Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. This position is eligible for a $.60 shift differential for any 2nd shift hours worked. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Secures temporary permits (fuel/trips, oversize/overweight, annual and regional) for clients in an accurate and timely manner. Validates accuracy of permits and distributes to clients. 
  • Determines routing of trips using maps and mapping software. 
  • Maintains appropriate documentation, such as call notes, state fees to be charged to clients, charges applied to corporate credit card and escrow funds, work order information, etc. 
  • Works directly with various state agencies to verify permit requirements and to ensure they are processed appropriately. 
  • Assists clients with answering questions and resolving issues related to permits.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).

  • Associate's Degree desired.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in a general office setting, preferably in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience in Trip Permits preferred.
  • In lieu, will consider a combination of experience and post-secondary education.

Other Skills/Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient in the use of a PC and MS Office Suite, with intermediate to advanced excel skills preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Skilled at reading maps and ability to understand mapping software.
  • Ability to analyze documents for accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
  • Desire to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Willingness to participate in background check/fingerprinting requirements at state or local jurisdictions to obtain access as needed to fulfill services.
     

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to offsite offices, customer sites and/or industry and training events may also be required, depending on assignment.
