Customer & Market Insights


The Market Research Analyst / Senior Analyst position is responsible for leading the design, generation, collection, analysis and preparation of Voice of the Customer and/or Market Intelligence data for executive presentation, discussion, analysis and strategic and operational planning.

This position will effectively synthesize and deliver market intelligence/research findings and insights, and make recommendations based on those findings, to enable internal stakeholders to more effectively and efficiently formulate strategy, design solutions and prioritize market opportunities.

Job Responsibilities


Market Research Analyst:

  • Collaborates with internal clients to determine research objectives, fulfills objectives through appropriate questionnaire designs, sample selections, training and supervision of fieldwork, data analysis, report creation, and presentation of results. This process applies for both quantitative and qualitative research methods. (Primary) 
  • Conducts secondary research, collects various types of information, summarizes and analyzes the information for trends and opportunities, and produces concise executive summaries that highlight key takeaways. (Secondary/CI) 
  • Gains an understanding of the business and key strategic initiatives, and strong visibility to the stakeholders key research needs.  
  • Manages multiple projects as well as developmental initiatives (projects that enhance and improve job tasks, research methods, productivity, etc.) under established timeline and within budget.  
  • Collaborates with other members of the department who may work on projects related to these areas of specialized knowledge.

Sr. Market Research Analyst:

  • Leverages an understanding of the business and key strategic initiatives, and strong visibility to the key research needs to independently synthesize and deliver market intelligence/research findings and insights, and make strategic recommendations based on those findings. 
  • Works independently with cross-functional research teams to identify information needed and recommends the best design and method to deliver the information.  
  • Investigates, tests, and advises on process issues in the research area, and on the outcomes delivered by the research area. For example, identifies best practices, validates measurements and results, develops benchmarks and test/recommends new tools and resources. 
  • Introduces and trains Analysts, Specialists and Operators on new research methods, analytical techniques, project management skills, and/or software applications that have been developed.  
  • Identifies and investigates opportunities to enhance the existing service offerings of the research area and provides potential new service offerings.

  • Bachelor's Degree (four year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Business, Marketing, Economics, Statistics or a Behavioral Sciences related field.



Market Research Analyst:

  • 3+ years in a marketing or market researched-related position.

Senior Market Research Analyst:

  • 5+ years experience managing research projects.
  • Experience analyzing and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative information, identifying implications and observing patterns, making correct inferences, drawing conclusions, explaining facts, data, or information to evaluate products/services, strategic direction, and core competencies utilizing a wide variety of resources.
  • Proven experience using data and insights to guide/build business strategy.


Computer Skills:

Market Research Analyst:

  • Experience using survey creations tools (Qualtrics preferred) and statistical software (SPSS preferred).

Search Market Research Analyst:

  • Should be familiar with technical benchmarking, win/loss analysis, traditional analytical tools (Porter's, SWOT), high level financial analysis, etc.
  • Deliver projects utilizing complex techniques including: market sizing, product differentiation analysis, and strategy analysis. 


Other Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proven abilities in interviewing, conversational and presentation skills, analysis and written communication.
  • Be a self-starter with a natural sense of curiosity and resourcefulness.
  • Quick study, able to handle complex data, issues and deadlines.
  • Strong intellect with the ability to combine analytical reasoning and judgment.
  • Working collaboratively with project teams.
  • Maintains an evolving body of knowledge specific to the role:

  • Builds a current awareness of the competitive environment and develops insights relating to competitor capabilities and intentions.
  • Accountable for preparation of an unbiased view of the competitive landscape based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of competitive information. Monitors for changes in competitive and market dynamics.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for extended periods of time. Occasional travel to offsite offices, customer sites and/or industry and training events may also be required, depending on assignment.

J. J. Keller provides a competitive benefit package which includes the following (eligibility requirements apply):  Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, 401(k) and Profit Sharing Plan, etc. The salary compensation range for this role in Colorado is $55,000 to $68,000 (or $66,000 to $82,000 for Sr. level).  Compensation and benefits information for this position is being included in accordance with requirements of the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
